Tiny Actions Change the World

Climate change is complicated, both as a physical and political process.

As a single human I can only do so much. Doing a little bit is far better than doing nothing. And if two people do it it is twice as good as nothing (I know, just go with the prose).

My big goal is to be close to carbon neutral by the end of 2020. I don’t even know yet if this is possible. If enough of you are along for the ride, we can do something that is going to make an actual difference. I might fail to reach my target, but I’ve made the world better along the way.

If you change a bit too, this is the way we make a difference to climate change.

The little image of the Earth is of the South Pole. It is a mosaic made from images taken by the Galileo spacecraft as it headed to Jupiter in 1989. The image is of the South Pole and you can see Antartica. It’s not an actual view as much of the image would be in the darkness of night.

As I live in the southern hemisphere and our polar ice caps are under incredible stress from climate change, I thought this would be a fitting image for my little newsletter. See more about the image here.
